Support the Richard J. Margolis Award

The Richard J. Margolis Award is made possible by generous donors to Blue Mountain Center who choose to honor this remarkable man by helping others carry on his legacy of thought-provoking, justice-minded journalism. All gifts go directly to grants for writers; there is no paid staff or overhead.

The Margolis Award is funded through Blue Mountain Center, a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization. Gifts qualify for a charitable income, gift and estate-tax deduction. Gifts of any amount are deeply appreciated.

You may make a one-time gift via PayPal to Blue Mountain Center and designate it for the Margolis Award. Click here to reach the Center's donation page, then select the "Donate" buttoned and then choose "Richard J. Margolis Award" in the drop-down menu.

Gifts of stock or other highly appreciated property also are welcome; these gifts also have tax advantages for the donor because securities sold by tax-exempt organizations are not taxed.

Gifts as part of an estate plan (“testamentary gifts”) are not tax-deductible, but they have the advantage of allowing the donor full access to the funds if needed at any time during their lifetime. Gifts may be made as part of an estate plan by using language such as: “I give $_______ to Blue Mountain Center, a not-for-profit organization in Blue Mountain Lake, New York, for the purpose of funding the Richard  J. Margolis Award.

Contributions to the RJM Award fund may be made at any time by sending a check payable to Blue Mountain Center to:
